Back to Dewanosuke- a hostess is feeding him, but he tells her that his arm is already better, and that he can feed himself. Habaki comes in and makes small talk, noticing that he can use the new hand fine.

They start testing small on Dewanosuke. They note that cuts on Manji's actual arm end up healing, but cuts above it don't heal.
Brand goes on a four page tirade about how he wants to change the way people think of medicine in Japan, and how Dewanosuke and Manji are the key.
Manji eats alone in his cell while the guards talk outside. Brand called for an executioner- Brand needs to do more... large-scale... surgery, and since he's not exact with a sword, he needs the talents of a skilled executioner.

The executioner, Yoshihiro Yamadaasaemon, arrives with his bodyguard.
Turns out that this shrimp is the famous executioner, the huge guy behind him is the bodyguard.
Manji cuts on the arm that belonged to Dewanosuke, and lo, it heals!

Next, Brand introduces step two of his plan: They're going to cut off and return the original hands, then cut off the left arms and swap them.
Great pics, great backgrounds, and the pics of the huge bodyguard are as cool as hell... ... ... but still, the prison plot plods on. Sigh.
