After a lot of rest, Brand tests Dewanosuke and finds that his right arm, the one that was given to Manji and returned, now heals when cut. Habaki congratulates him on his success and heads out for a bit.

The experiments continue. They return the limbs, the patients spend a lot fo time healing, and the executioner talks with Brand a lot about the nature of his work and the dangers of doing these kinds of experiments on people.
. 
Dewanosuke, after all the trauma, falls ill for a day- he gets feverish, calls for his wife (the maid is kind enough to see to him, even sleeping next to him until the morning). Brand feeds him, but Dewanosuke is kinda flipping out- The whole "Eternity" thing finally dawned on him, and its consequences, and now he's not too happy about the deal. But he takes it stoicly anyway.
. 
The next day, Brand tests out the immortality by cutting Dewanosuke across the chest with his scalpel... very soon, the wound heals. Success! Or is it? Habaki steps into play again, saying "it looks like I have to step in and test this immortality thing again", drawing his sword...
More prison story, which is kinda boring, but this episode is very, very long! So I'm gonna give it...
