Hyakurin meets up with Rin, even bringing her and Dowa lunch. They briefly discuss Rin's plans to free Manji- Basically they're going to break in, just the two of them. Hyakurin offers to help, but Rin flat out refuses. Hyakurin's arm is still healing... also, she tells Hyakurin that she heard the "news" from Giichi that morning...
Giichi's drunk again, Hyakurin comes over to him and just watches him for a while. Then she asks how long he's known that she was pregnant. He could tell from a few days ago.
Basically, Hyakurin makes it clear that she isn't going to have the baby, and she wants to kill it before it's born. Giichi is opposed to that: "The child is free of sin". Hyakurin laughs, and starts to freak out- She never even considered the idea, and thinks that Giichi is crazy for suggesting it. In fact...
But Giichi stops her before she hammers away at her stomach with the rock.
She can't do it. If she does, every time she looks at the baby's face she'll see the body of Shinriji, or feel the pain of torture, or see her rapists' faces one by one..
Giichi tells her to have the child. She'll never see its face. He'll take it from her and raise it as his own, as a father.
Hyakurin is shocked at that thought. And thinks about it for a while.
She even says something to the effect, under her breath, of "Giichi... I love you...", but he of course doesn't hear.
More prison arc crap. But we get a little further on the Hyakurin/pregnancy subplot. And hey, looks like she might even have a thing for Giichi! Ohhh, boy!
